Free yourself from your computer by using a cordless phone for all your Internet chat and voice over IP applications! Fully control Skype and X-lite from your telephone.

The Chat-CordTM is the most affordable way of using a plain old telephone for your Internet calls. It is an adapter that plugs into your sound card and allows you to use any standard telephone for your voice over IP applications. The adapter plugs into the microphone and headphone sockets of your soundcard, and the telephone plugs into the adapter. When off the hook, sound from the computer is directed through to the telephone, and when you speak, the sound is directed into the computer through the sound card.

Chat-Cord telephone adapterThe Chat-CordTM has a speaker jack allowing you to connect your speakers through the device, meaning that all sound will still come through your speakers (both when on hook, and off hook - thus when holding a telephone conversation, you may want to turn your speakers off if they are in the same room as you). The adapter also has a USB plug which you need to plug in to a spare USB port on your computer. The USB adapter is used solely as a power supply and does not require any drivers on your computer.

After connecting the Chat-CordTM and telephone handset, you can use any standard voice over IP application, including Skype, MSN Messenger, Firefly, Xten, and many more. There is no need to install any drivers or configure the software for use with the Chat-CordTM. You dial and answer calls as you would with a headset, using the application, and use the telephone attached to the Chat-CordTM for talking.

The product comes complete with an easy setup guide. Please note that the Chat-CordTM is intended for computers where the distance between the USB and audio sockets is less than 40cm. If the distance between these ports is any longer, you will need an extension cord to make the cables reach.
XP Diallers: Control Skype & X-lite From Your Cordless Phone!

If you use Skype, and have Windows XP, then the Chat-Cord Skype Dialler is for you. Simply run the dialler application, plug a cordless phone into your Chat-Cord, and you can now fully control Skype from your cordless phone. This includes dialling other Skype users as well as PSTN numbers through SkypeOut, and also the ability to answer incoming Skype calls from your cordless phone!

Alternatively, if you use X-lite with a SIP based voice over IP provider, download the Chat-Cord X-lite/X-Pro dialler to control X-lite.

The dialler applications are provided "as is" by the Chat-Cord manufacturers with no further warranties.

You can still use your cordless phone with Skype and X-lite without the diallers, but you will need to interact with your computer to make and receive calls - your phone will only be used for talking. The diallers simply give you full control of the software applications from the keypad of your phone so you do not have to interact with your computer directly in order to make and receive calls.
Important Note

The Chat-CordTM is designed to be used with cordless telephones. It will operate correctly with nearly any telephone that has an AC adapter. Telephones without power-packs draw their power through the phone line. Some such telephones draw more power from the phone line than the Chat-CordTM is able to supply through its USB connection. Should you not be able to get your Chat-CordTM to work with your telephone, please let us know. If we are unable to offer you a satisfactory solution, we will provide you with a full refund of your purchase.
